A quick look at how Loopin helps parents manage routines and emotions
My Role
As a UI/UX
Designer, I was involved throughout the project, from research and
competitive analysis to visual design and system thinking.
I worked on user flows, wireframes, and
high-fidelity screens, with a focus on the dashboard, notifications experience, and shared
design system components. I also contributed to branding assets used for presentations and
promotion.
Marketing Analysis
Raising a child with ADHD can be overwhelming. In Canada, about 5% of children are diagnosed (over 500,000), with boys more commonly affected (CADDRA, 2023). Parents often feel unsupported and unsure how to manage emotions and routines (ADHD Parent Surveys, 2022).
Competitor Focus
Most ADHD apps, like Goally, Joon, and Brili, focus on task management but overlook emotional support and parent-child connection.
The LOOPIN Difference
LOOPIN fills this gap with Moodies (emotional check-ins), Loopin Moments (bonding activities), and CalmNest (parent self-care), helping families stay on track and build stronger connections.
The Problem
Parents and children were struggling not because of a lack of care, but because daily routines and emotional communication were hard to manage consistently.
01. Kids
Kids feel misunderstood, overwhelmed, and are constantly struggling with daily expectations.
02. Parents
Parents feel overwhelmed, disconnected, and unsupported in their daily caregiving roles.
The Solution
Moodies
Allows children to express emotions quickly through emojis or voice notes, giving parents immediate emotional context.
Calmnest
Provides parents with simple self check tools to pause, reflect, and manage stress during busy routines.
Looping Moments
Encourages short, low pressure activities designed to strengthen parent child bonding without screen overload.
Design Process
01. Research
Analyzed ADHD parenting apps to understand routine management and daily challenges. Focused on creating a calm, low-friction experience.
02. Exploration
Explored layouts and interactions for routines and mood tracking. Prioritized clear hierarchy, simple navigation, and friendly visuals.
03. Refinement
Refined layouts and components to reduce cognitive load and ensure consistency across all touchpoints.

Dashboard Design Iterations
First Iteration
The initial dashboard displayed routines, mood updates, and activity cards simultaneously. Feedback showed the layout felt visually dense and overwhelming.
Final Iteration
Reorganized to prioritize daily routines and mood indicators. Refined hierarchy and spacing so parents could quickly understand the day's context.
